New AI Update from Google
As noted by Barry Schwartz on X (formally Twitter), Google has made an update to their Helpful Content documentation. Until this update, their documentation stated “Google’s helpful content system generates a signal by our automated ranking systems to better ensure people see original helpful content written by people, for people, in search results.” The latest update to their documentation states “Google’s helpful content system generates a signal by our automated ranking systems to better ensure people see original helpful content created for people in search results.”
What Does This New Helpful Content Documentation Update Mean?
So what does this new phrasing update mean? Well, put quite simply, Google doesn’t care if your content is created with human writers or if it is generated using an AI tool. I have been saying it for a couple of years now but it is nice to get some validation. Google does not care whether or not your content was written using an AI tool like Jasper or Content Sprout. They only care if the content brings value to its users and that the content has some originality to it. Meaning, what new thought are you bringing to the topic or are you just regurgitating the same ten million results they already know about? So in my opinion, if ai generated content works for you, use it!
What are Some Good AI Tools to Use?
Now that we know that AI content is okay to use, what are some good tools out there for you to use? Using an AI tool to create content can dramatically speed up your content creation process. There are a lot of tools out there but I will focus on three. Two you may have heard of – ChatGPT and Jasper. And then one up-an-coming star that needs more love – Content Sprout.
