3 Unscored but Essential SEO Components

Table of Contents

Last week, we talked about How to Research the Best Keyword Strategy for Your Brand. And while finding the right keywords is an essential part of finding SEO success, there are other things you can do to maximize your SEO efforts. You could be ranking high and outdoing your competition for keywords. However, the point of SEO is not only high rankings — it’s to generate conversions. Without these three essential SEO components, you’re not getting the most out of your work at SEO.

1. Readability

If your content isn’t easily readable, then people won’t convert. They have to understand and trust you, and creating quality content is the way to make that happen.
Perhaps this article at Contently sums it up best: “But within a given genre, the best writers tend to write the simplest.” Writing should be written with a single thing in mind: other people are going to read it.
While that seems simple (and obvious) enough, we all know the temptation to sound as intelligent (think 5-syllable words and trying to remember how to spell thesaurus when you type it into google) as we possibly can. However, this makes for bad writing. People come for your message, not the words you use to give it.

2. Ads

While you’re fighting your way to the top of the first page of Google, often someone has paid to beat you there. Google ads are available for a reason – they work. They are customizable to your audience and they will help you attract customers to your site. Combined with a strong SEO game, they can be the tipping point to your success.

3. Speed

Of all the SEO components out there, this one might be the most important. A slow website tanks your revenue. Even a single second of extra load time can decrease your conversion rate by 7%. People don’t have the patience for a website that takes a long time to load – and why should they, when Google probably gave them plenty of other websites to check out?

There’s a simple solution to having a slow website: finding a quality web host. A web host will guarantee that your website remains up and running all over the world even during peak times of traffic (think Cyber Monday). Soulheart offers a web hosting service that will meet the web hosting needs of almost any company.
